Hi there, I'm having a heck of a time trying to get Mail to send outgoing messages through my ISP's smtp servers. Used to work, then all of a sudden it up and started getting testy on me. When I try to click the 'Send' button, it returns an error message of: 'The outgoing mail server 'smtpserver.sfu.ca' failed to deliver this message. The server 'smtpserver.sfu.ca' refused to allow a connection on port 25.' I've tried both my ISPs, both with the same result. OK, so on edX's reccommendation I broke down and called my cable ISP, and got a proper mail server IP (rather than the simplified and shortened version of 'ISPmail' or whatever, which is supposed to resolve properly under normal circumstances).

Still, my other ISP would allow me to send messages to other users on their own system, but nothing was allowed outside of that (unrecognised recipient errors, authentication problems, and so on). Anyways, I had been reluctant to call my cable ISP since they claim that local routers are 'unsupported', and that as soon as I mentioned it, they would just tell me to take a hike or RTFM or whatever.
